What makes a bad website?

There are many websites that are really bad.  What I saw to be the most common problem with bad websites is the fact that they are too busy. There are too many pictures and flash animations and text on one page. The site needs to be broken up into sections, everything can not be on one page. Another problem  that sites have is the background. The background is a tacky color or just a picture repeated. When you put text over this you need to be able to see it. On some sites they have rainbow color background and then bright yellow as the text, people can  not see the text when it is that color. The last problem I saw was that a site can have these great pictures and animations but it does not show what the purpose of the site is. There was one site where it was selling computer memory, but I had no idea that it was selling it. The home page had an interactive flash that did not say what the product was. Sites that are promoting their products need to be clear and show what they are selling.

For the background, it is a tree with a tire swing.

Tire swing swaying (6sec)

2nd scene: Close up of grass. A bug in the grass flying around and avoiding the tire swing. (4 sec)

3rd Scene: The same background as the beginning. A dog comes and jumps over the tire while its swinging. (6 sec)

4th scene: The same bug is flying around and then all of a sudden the dogs legs come into the scene. The legs are running around. The bug is trying to get away but it gets smashed be a foot. (14 sec)

Sydney’s Plan for the year

If I finish with my work early I plan to either work in the darkroom or find different tutorials to play around with. I will probably be in the darkroom more first semester because I can work on photos for senior project.
